Rolling Stones to play for 1.5 million fans in Rio

The Rolling Stones are going to play a really big beach party on February 18th. The band has agreed to perform a free concert at Copacabana Beach in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and it could draw about 1.5 million fans. Because of the size and scope of this event, the group is expected to use a crew that numbers about 1,500 people to get everything up and running. The show is one of several the band will play early next year in Latin America as part of their A Bigger Bang world tour.

The Rolling Stones were nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Rock Album category for A Bigger Bang. The trophy will be handed out February 8th in Los Angeles, and the Stones are up against the latest releases from Coldplay, Foo Fighters, U2, and Neil Young.

The A Bigger Bang world tour resumes January 10th in Montreal.
