ZZ Top guitarist: Each guitar has a story

In addition to its focus on cars and guitars, the new book Rock + Roll Gearhead by Reverend Billy F. Gibbons is full of stories about the life and times of ZZ Top. It's hard to imagine anyone remembering all those details without any help, and Gibbons told us that his memory was jogged every time he picked up another instrument:
[ click here to listen if you have a Backstage Pass] "It seems like with each guitar case we opened up, 10 stories flew out of the case along with it. You know, it was something to pull out of this corner and it was, 'Oh, yeah, I remember - Santa Fe, New Mexico, on that one.' And, 'Oh, down on the Mexican border here - we've got...oh yeah, 'La Grange' was on this one.' So it was fond recollections, so to speak."

Rock + Roll Gearhead came out last month, and it's widely available.

ZZ Top are currently enjoying a holiday break from touring.
