Jon Bon Jovi headed to the west wing

Jon Bon Jovi's political activism will soon be extended to the TV screen. He's begun shooting an appearance on the NBC show The West Wing, and the episode will air March 26th. On the show, he comes out in support of Democratic candidate Matt Santos, who's played by Jimmy Smits. The show's title is "Welcome To Wherever You Are," which is a song on the latest Bon Jovi album, Have A Nice Day, and the singer will do part of the song during the episode.

In real life, Bon Jovi have been a vocal supporters of the past two Democratic presidential candidates - John Kerry in 2004, and Al Gore in 2000.

Jon is no stranger to the camera, having acted in the films U-571 and Pay It Forward, among others.

Jon and his bandmates kick off the next leg of their Have A Nice Day world tour on Saturday (January 14th) at The Ford Center in Oklahoma City.
