Judas Priest to release 2-CD anthology
Judas Priest will survey their history on April 4th with the release of The Essential Judas Priest. The two-disc anthology includes 34 songs from throughout their career, starting with their 1976 debut Sad Wings Of Destiny and running through last year's Angel Of Retribution. The collection shows how big an influence the band has been on hard rock and heavy metal, and guitarist Glenn Tipton told us that he's proud to have made that kind of impact on the music: [

It's great to be a part of something like Priest which has played a little role in shaping the way music -- particularly heavy metal -- has gone." The guitarist told us that the band will soon begin writing for their next studio album, and that they'll only play a handful of shows this year to concentrate on the new project.
Glenn will release two solo albums on March 7th -- Baptizm Of Fire and Edge Of The World -- both of which were recorded about 10 years ago.
