Rush guitarist proud of new DVD

If you turned on VH1 Classic on Friday, January 13th, you could have watched highlights from the new Rush DVD R-30. The cable network is saluting the band this weekend and R-30 is one of the programming highlights. That suits guitarist Alex Lifeson just fine, since he told us that he's really pleased with how the DVD came out:
[ click here to listen if you have a Backstage Pass] "It's always been our goal to be the best that we can be, and we have very high standards that we set for ourselves and for each other. And that is one of the important things about the way we write music, and it's pretty obvious the way we play it, so I think...yeah, I'm, I'm pretty proud of the way this turned out."

Besides R-30,which will be repeated on Saturday, January 14th and Sunday January 15th, VH1 Classic will also air multiple showings of the show Hangin' With that Lifeson and singer-bassist Geddy Lee did.

Rush plan to record a new studio album this year, with a tour to follow.
