Aerosmith plotting return to the studio
While Aerosmith continue their Rockin' The Joint tour, they're also looking ahead to their next project. The band is thinking about making a new studio album, and they plan to hit the studio in the spring. Lead singer Steven Tyler said, "It's going to be just like what the White Stripes are doing, and like a couple of songs on Sheryl Crow's new album. You'll listen to it and be like, 'I've heard that before' - but you never did."Lead guitarist Joe Perry, meanwhile, might have a different approach in mind. He said, "I want to take elements of those experimental things like we did on Just Push Play. I always start with bits and pieces, and hopefully they inspire other people to throw things in. I have stuff that I didn't put on my solo record (last year) that may be up for grabs."
If all goes well, the album should be out in the latter part of this year.
Aerosmith's next show is Monday (February 6th) at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California. They were supposed to play on Friday, February 3rd, at the HP Pavilion At San Jose in San Jose, California, but the show has been postponed until April 11th.
