Freddie Mercury action figure out soon
You'll soon be able to have Freddie Mercury right next to you whenever you like. The late Queen frontman has been immortalized in plastic by NECA, which plans to release the 18-inch-tall figure in late May. The designers portrayed Mercury as he was at Queen's famous Wembley Stadium concert in 1986, complete with short hair, moustache, and yellow jacket, as well as a microphone and a mic stand. There will also be a musical component to the figure, but no further information about that has been announced. Mercury died of AIDS-related bronchopneumonia in November 1991.Queen guitarist Brian May saw a prototype of the action figure, and he wrote on his official brianmay.com website, "I think the likeness is amazing... it looks like a real tiny version of Freddie... quite uncanny."
Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor of Queen + Paul Rodgers will kick off a North American tour in Miami in March 3rd.
