New Foo Fighters album?
Foo Fighters has five Grammy nominations this year, including Best Rock Album and Best Surround Sound Album for In Your Honor, 2005's critically acclaimed and million-selling double CD. While it may be a bit early for leader Dave Grohl to start thinking about the band's next record, drummer Taylor Hawkins told us it could happen at any time: "You never know with Dave. He could, you know, say, 'Hey, I'm gonna go play with Josh (Homme) from Queens Of The Stone Age for six months, you know, and I'll see you then.' Or he might go, 'I wanna get started right away on the next record!' It all depends, like, what he's motivated to do at that time, you know -- if he wants to go play drums and forget about being the leader and the songwriter, or if he just can't wait to do another record." Foo Fighters' other Grammy nominations include Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal for "Best Of You," and Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals for "Virginia Moon," featuring Norah Jones.
The group's five nominations tie it with U2 for the most by a rock band this year. The 48th Annual Grammy Awards will begin at 8:00 P.M. ET tonight on CBS-TV.
Dave Grohl and his wife, Jordyn Blum, are expecting their first child on or around April 10th.
