Official: Cream to play more shows
Cream singer-bassist Jack Bruce says the band is looking at playing together again. Speaking on Tuesday, February 7th, before he accepted Cream's Lifetime Achievement Award in Los Angeles, Bruce said that he, singer-guitarist Eric Clapton, and drummer Ginger Baker wouldn't do a lengthy tour, but that they could set up shop in a given city and play several dates there, as they did in London and New York City last year. The singer also told Reuters, "What we feel is that it's so special, and also so emotionally draining, that it's not something we could do every day. We will play more, but where and when I'm not at liberty to say."
He added that he and Baker still have some tensions between them, but that they're manageable, and that Clapton is "the most beautiful, kindest, most understanding guy that I've come across."
Bruce accepted the award yesterday by himself. He said that Clapton had a prior commitment, and that it didn't make sense for Baker to travel all the way from his ranch in South Africa just for the ceremony.
