Pink Floyd members deny reunion stories
The members of Pink Floyd want everyone to know that there won't be another reunion this year. A message on the band's official website reads, "David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright are joined by Roger Waters in categorically stating that there is no truth in the recent news reports about a Pink Floyd tour planned for this autumn." Gilmor added, "Since Live 8, there are certain sections of the media that have deliberately misled fans and public by inventing stories and quotes about Pink Floyd touring: Nick, Richard, Roger, and I are telling fans directly that this is not happening. We are also asking the various parties who are fabricating these stories to desist, if only for the sake of the fans." The band was responding to an article in the UK's Sunday Mirror that said the band would follow up their reunion at last summer's Live 8 concert with shows at the Royal Albert Hall in London this November.Gilmor and Wright have more pressing matters on their hands. Gilmor will release a new solo album on March 7th called On An Island, and Wright will be part of the touring band, along with Pink Floyd backing musicians Guy Pratt and Jon Carin, Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera, and drummer Steve DiStanislao.
