Slash: Chinese Democracy in March
Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash said that the group's long-overdue new album, Chinese Democracy, will arrive in March 2006.Although he is now with Velvet Revolver, Slash said to Virgin Radio in the UK: "I'm really excited. Its been a long time waiting to see what the next step around the corner was going to be [for Axl Rose]. Its coming out in March and apparently it sounds great."
Guns N' Roses' last studio album, a collection of cover songs called The Spaghetti Incident?, was released in 1993.
In the ensuing 12 years, Axl Rose and the band have gone through an assortment of producers and lineup changes while working on Chinese Democracy. A 2002 tour was aborted after just a few shows in North America.
A GNR greatest hits compilation issued in 2004 has sold more than two million copies.
