Van Halen for next "Rock Star" reality?
Van Halen have denied it in the past, but a new report says they will be the featured band on this year's edition of the Rock Star reality series. According to tmz.com, it's a done deal, and instead of the usual answer, Van Halen's publicist told the site, "I'm not denying it. I'm not going to answer any questions about it." Other representatives for the band and for CBS, which will air the second season of the reality TV series, didn't respond to e-mails seeking clarification.INXS created the show and were featured on the first season last year, when they found new lead singer J.D. Fortune. Bassist Garry Beers told us that whoever follows in their footsteps will have to take it seriously: "They have to be bloody good, and the fact is that they have to be heartfelt in it -- otherwise, it'll cheapen the whole concept. The concept that we put together was designed to help a band that needed to find a great singer find a great singer."
