Bruce Springsteen to play New Orleans
Bruce Springsteen is taking his new band down to the Delta. The first show he's announced for his new Seeger Sessions Band is April 30th at the Fairgrounds Racetrack in New Orleans, as part of the annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Jazz Fest producer-director Quint Davis said, "That one of America's most vital artists and most powerful live entertainers and his new band are coming to share this very special Jazz Fest with us, and be a part of revitalizing New Orleans, should be heartening for all New Orleanians. When Bruce and the Seeger Sessions band take the stage at the Festival, it will be a moment to remember."The Boss plans to do a short tour to promote his Pete Seeger tribute album We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions, which comes out April 25th.
Others playing Jazz Fest this year include Bob Dylan, Warren Haynes from the Allman Brothers Band and Gov't Mule, Paul Simon, Little Feat, and Jimmy Buffett.
