Evanescence album nearly complete

Evanescence will complete the mixing process for its second major label album by next week, according to a posting by singer Amy Lee at the EVBoard.com fan message board. Lee wrote, "Terry (Balsamo, guitarist) and I are sitting here in the control room at the studio -- we'll be done mixing next week! I can hardly believe it, we've been working on this album for so long. The stuff sounds so good." The yet-to-be-titled album is tentatively scheduled for release in August.

Lee added that she wanted to let fans know that Balsamo is doing "really well" after suffering a stroke last November. Lee concluded by writing, "Terry just said thanks for all you guys' support, and all the kind words. I really want to thank you guys again for being so patient -- I know it's gonna be worth it."

Evanescence's 2003 major label debut, Fallen, has sold nearly six and a half million copies in the U.S. alone.

The band recently sued its former manager, Dennis Rider, accusing him in a December lawsuit of breach of fiduciary duty, professional negligence and sexual assault and battery, among other claims. Rider has countersued for a minimum of $10 million in unpaid management commissions.

Lee split last fall with her boyfriend of two years, Seether frontman Shaun Morgan.
