Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton is getting rid of one of his instruments, and he's doing it for a good cause. He told us: [

It's one of the original ones I played on stage, so it's a collector's item." The guitar also comes with an autograph and a certificate of authenticity.
The auction closes on Tuesday (March 14th). Proceeds will go to the UK charity the Teenage Cancer Trust, which. The organization helps build hospital wards for young people undergoing cancer treatment, so that they can be in an age-appropriate, supportive environment.
The Who, and in particular lead singer Roger Daltrey, are probably the most famous patrons of the charity.
Earlier this week, Tipton put out two solo albums - a remastered version of his 1997 release Baptizm Of Fire, and an unreleased record called Edge Of The World that he made with the Who's John Entwistle and Rainbow drummer Cozy Powell, both of whom have since died. The guitarist is also donating the proceeds from Edge Of The World to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
