Korn coming back for summer tour
Korn has just a few dates left on its current North American tour, but the band promises it will be back this summer for more. Singer Jonathan Davis said that the band plans to top its current show when it returns to U.S. stages later this year: "It's going to be even way larger. And we'll be out with different bands but still have the cheap ticket prices. Our deal is allowing us to keep the prices down low."
The deal that Korn has with its tour promoter allows for both parties to share in all revenues from the band's live shows, including merchandise sales. Korn has a similar deal with its record label, and Davis told us it makes everyone involved a partner in the Korn "brand": "The deal is structured in fact as a partnership deal. It was more of like an incentive deal. If they do their job, we all see money that we've never seen before. It's a true partnership that they're gonna take our career seriously and help us out."
Korn was reportedly approached to co-headline this summer's edition of Ozzfest, but negotiations never went far.
The band plays on Tuesday, March 28th, in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The current tour ends on April 4th in Toronto, Canada.
They will release a collection called Live And Rare on May 9th. The set will feature 13 cuts, including recordings of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick In The Wall" and Metallica's "One."
The band is currently touring in support of its recently released seventh album, See You On The Other Side, which features the new single, "Coming Undone."
