Korn feeling expansive on current tour
Korn may have shrunk in 2005 when guitarist Brian "Head" Welch left the group, but the band has expanded on its current See You On The Other Side tour. In addition to the four original members, the live ensemble features a second guitarist, a percussionist, a keyboardist, and a multi-instrumentalist who also handles backup vocals. Guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told us why the group doubled in size: "We wanted to add to the whole Korn experience. We wanted to, you know, stay true to the recordings of the new album, and also bring something, some new life to some of the old songs."
The band plays on Thursday, March 30th, in Chicago, Illinois. This tour finishes up on April 4th in Toronto, although the band plans to return for another North American trek this summer.
The band will release a collection called Live And Rare on May 9th. The set will feature 13 cuts, including recordings of Pink Floyd's "Another Brick In The Wall" and Metallica's "One."
"Coming Undone" is the new single from Korn's seventh album, See You On The Other Side, which has sold 782,000 copies since coming out in December.
