Lynyrd Skynyrd announce tour dates
Lynyrd Skynyrd will team up with modern rockers 3 Doors Down for the Double Trouble Summer Tour. The 15-city outing kicks off on June 25th in Cincinnati and concludes in Biloxi, Mississippi on July 22nd. It might seem like an odd pairing, but the bands are actually old pals. Skynyrd frontman Johnny Van Zant said, "We've been trying to go on the road with these guys for a while. We've done a few events together, but our schedules haven't worked out before now. We're excited about these shows. It's going to be a high energy, old school-meets-new school Southern Rock concert you don't want to miss."3 Doors Down lead singer Brad Arnold said, "It's going to be an honor to share the same stage with these guys every night. Like so many others, I grew up listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd. We've been friends with the guys for years, so it's going to be great to finally get to tour together."
Among the times the two groups have shared a bill was the charity fundraiser in Mississippi for 3 Doors Down's Better Life Foundation back in 2004.
