New Who CD & DVD coming soon

The long wait for a new album from the Who just might be coming to an end, according to singer-guitarist Pete Townshend. Writing on his official boywhoheardmusic.blogspot.com website, Townshend said that a new CD would be out in June, to coincide with the band's European tour. He also wrote that the Who would release DVDs of every show on the tour, and that the performances would also be webcast.

He previously wrote that here might not be a formal album this year, because the Who's manager "has come up with a great scheme that may circumvent the need for a CD full of Green Day and White Stripes impersonations. No, it is not an 'EP'. It is a truly inspired idea." There's been no word on what that "truly inspired idea" is.

The new CD will be the first set of new music from the band since their 1982 album It's Hard.

The Who will play a month's worth of shows in Europe, starting June 25th in Leeds, England, and ending July 23rd in Ulm, Germany. North American dates will happen later in the year.
