The Rolling Stones to play China

After 40-plus years, the Rolling Stones have pretty much done it all - except perform in China. But the band will get to knock that one off their "to do" list in a couple of weeks. A local promoter has announced a Stones concert for April 8th at the Grand Stage in Shanghai, which will mark the band's first-ever working visit to China. There's been no official confirmation from the classic rock legends, who could easily fit the travel into their A Bigger Bang word tour, since they play April 5th in Nagoya, Japan, and then have off until April 11th in Sydney, Australia.

The Rolling Stones were supposed to play in China on their Licks world tour back in 2003, but the shows got canceled because of the outbreak of SARS at the time.

The next stop for the band is on Wednesday, March 1st, in Monterrey, Mexico.
