Woodstock site to hold anniversary wknd
The original Woodstock site in Bethel, New York, will salute the festival this summer. The former Max Yasgur's farm is being developed as the Bethel Woods Center For The Arts, and they're planning a "Woodstock Weekend" on August 12th and 13th. No acts have been announced yet, but a message on bethelwoodslive.org reads, "The lineup and schedule will pay homage to artists who graced the stage during the original Woodstock in 1969, while also featuring contemporary acts that reflect the spirit of those who headlined the classic festival." More details should come out next month, but one possible performer is Ten Years After. The current lineup of the band will be back in the U.S. for more touring this summer, and their schedule lists an "Upstate New York" show for August.
Bethel Woods will open July 1st with the New York Philharmonic and a holiday fireworks show.
The original Woodstock festival took place on August 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th, 1969.
