Bon Jovi forced to move big London dates
Bon Jovi are on the move in the UK - literally. Because of construction delays in opening London's new Wembley Stadium, the band has been forced to move its June 10th and 11th concerts to England's Milton Keynes Bowl. In a statement, the band said that: "It is evident that the stadium will not be ready for the Bon Jovi shows in June. Having closed the original Wembley Stadium, it would have been a fitting honor to pen the new one. However, the most important element was always the concert themselves. So while the location may have changed, the celebration will remain the same."Several other concerts and events scheduled for the new Wembley stadium have also been moved, including late June shows by the pop group Take That and the English soccer FA Cup that was slated for May. There's no word on when the 90,000-seat venue will be finished. The Rolling Stones are scheduled to play Wembley in August, and are monitoring the situation as well.
Bon Jovi's European tour begins May 13th in Germany. The group starts a six-show Japanese run on Saturday (April 8th) in Tokyo. The band is expected to play summer shows in North America, but no dates have been announced yet.
