David Gilmour not extending tour
If you don't have tickets for David Gilmour's current tour, you're probably out of luck in terms of seeing him anytime soon. He's doing a handful of North American shows over the next two weeks, then five more in late May in the U.K., but that's it for the 2006 itinerary. The Pink Floyd singer-guitarist told us that there are no plans to work more anytime soon, but he won't rule it out for the future: "I have other things in my calendar for this year to do with my children's well-being, amongst other things, and so I, I don't think I will extend this actual tour. But, you know, who knows what the future will bring?" Gilmour's next show is Sunday (April 9th) in Toronto.
The tour band includes Roxy Music guitarist Phil Manzanera, who produced On An Island, and Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright, as well as Floyd's touring bassist Guy Pratt and second keyboardist Jon Carin.
