Duff McKagan to tour with Alice In Chains?
Alice In Chains may have an extra pair of hands on the road this summer in the form of Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan. According to Rolling Stone magazine, the former Guns N' Roses member might tour with the reunited group as its second guitarist. McKagan performed with Alice In Chains at a taping of VH1 Classic's Decades Rock Live last month and told us he loves to strap on the six-string: "You know, I always played guitar, but the thing that brought me to the show was playing bass. I love playing bass, but man, I do love playing guitar, you know? Distortion and feedback and all that." Alice In Chains will begin a short series of US dates on May 18th in Los Angeles, with the band expected to play five shows. A European festival run begins on May 26th in Portugal.
The band has also confirmed that William DuVall will sing lead vocals for the group on its upcoming dates, along with a few "special guests."
DuVall performed two songs with the band last month in New Jersey at the VH1 Classic taping. He has also sung their material as part of guitarist Jerry Cantrell's solo touring band.
