Extreme reuniting for a series of shows
A Boston radio station has announced that the original lineup of Extreme will reunite for a show at Boston's Bank of America Pavilion on June 30th, according to Blabbermouth.net. The group is also rumored to be playing shows in Connecticut and New Hampshire this summer, with more dates planned. Extreme scored a massive hit in the early Nineties with "More Than Words" from its second release, 1991's Extreme II: Pornograffiti, but split in 1996 after four albums.
The original Extreme lineup consists of singer Gary Cherone, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, bassist Pat Badger and drummer Paul Geary.
Cherone had a disastrous one-album stint as lead vocalist for Van Halen in 1998 and has recently been performing with a Who tribute act.
Bettencourt issued several solo albums and now plays with the Satellite Party, the new group formed by ex-Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell.
Geary has become a high-profile manager, with Godsmack among his clients.
Badger raises alpacas, South American mammals related to the llama, on a farm outside Boston.
