Foo Fighters talk up acoustic tour

Foo Fighters will regroup next month to begin rehearsing for a short American acoustic tour. Although the trek will most likely revolve around songs from the softer half of the group's In Your Honor double album, drummer Taylor Hawkins told us that the set won't be limited to just that material: "It will be a bit broader than that, 'cause there's a lot of acoustic-based songs and, you know, everybody's heard Dave (Grohl) do 'Everlong' acoustic and stuff so...and really I think you could play any of those songs acoustically. So I think what we'll do is we'll get together and we'll decide what's really working acoustically, and we wanna have, sort of augment the band with possibly cello or violin and, you know, almost like little mini-rock orchestra."

Dates and venues for the Foo Fighters acoustic tour are yet to be announced. The group has some European gigs lined up this summer as well.

Hawkins completed a tour earlier this week with his side band, the Coattail Riders, in support of their recently released self-titled debut album.

Frontman Dave Grohl and his wife, Jordyn, became parents to Violet Maye Grohl on April 15th in Los Angeles. Grohl described the couple's first child as "just perfect."
