Guns N' Roses to play New York city

Guns N' Roses will play a two-night stand in New York City next month on May 15 and May 17. Tickets for the shows at the Big Apple's Hammerstein Ballroom will go on sale April 21 for $63.

Earlier this week Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum, who played with the classic Guns N' Roses formation recently ran into frontman Axl Rose in New York: "I hadn't seen him in at least six years," Sorum wrote on his Web site. "We spoke for quite some time, and it was nice to clear some things up. I told him how great of a frontman he was while I was in the band and no hard feelings from me at all ... It was an all-around good vibe, I think."

Guns N' Roses are scheduled to play 17 European festivals starting May 17 at Rock in Rio in Lisbon, Portugal.

An official release date for the long-overdue Chinese Democracy album has yet to be announced.
