Jimi Hendrix 3D album art coming soon

The cover art from the 1967 Jimi Hendrix Experience album Are You Experienced will be turned into a three-dimensional sculpture in the fall. Artist Todd McFarlane, who's created action figures of Grateful Dead singer-guitarist Jerry Garcia, AC/DC lead guitarist Angus Young, Doors frontman Jim Morrison, and the Beatles, among many others, has a new line of 3-D reproductions of classic album art. He's currently working on one for Are You Experienced, and if all goes well, it will be available in October.

McFarlane has already made 3-D art from Led Zeppelin's first album, as well as Metallica's Master Of Puppets.
