Led Zeppelin legends to play in Europe
It's still too early to tell for sure, but there just might be some Led Zeppelin-related activity this year. Singer Robert Plant and guitarist Jimmy Page are both confirmed for a tribute to Atlantic Records head Ahmet Ertegun at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland on June 30th, and the fan-run but highly reliable led-zeppelin.com website reports that Plant and Page "are scheduled to perform together" at the event. Rumors have been circulating about a one-off Led Zeppelin show in Europe this summer, Plant, Page, and bassist John Paul Jones being joined by drummer Jason Bonham, the son of late Led Zep drummer John Bonham. Jason Bonham currently plays with Foreigner, and they have a show booked in London on June 30th. Representatives for Jones and Bonnham told us they were unaware of possible Led Zeppelin work.A couple of years ago, Page told us what it would take to get a Led Zeppelin reunion going: "First of all, we'd need to discuss it. And then what we'd need to do is to go into a room and play some Led Zeppelin material, you know, in the true and faithful representation of it. And then if we could look each other in the eye after that, and there was a smile behind those eyes, then I'd think, 'Yeah. It might be worth considering doing that.' But until such time as that happens, it's just something which is all in the lap of the gods, really."
