Metallica sculpture due this summer
The cover of Metallica's classic 1986 album, Master Of Puppets, will be the subject of what is described as an "unique" 3D sculpture being produced by McFarlane Toys, according to Blabbermouth.net. The 7-inch tall by 7-inch wide sculpture is due for release in August of 2006. Photos can be seen at Spawn.com. Master Of Puppets was released in March of 1986 and has sold over six million copies in the U.S. Among the tracks on the album are "Battery," "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)" and the title cut. McFarlane Toys previously issued a Metallica figurine set featuring the stage set and musical equipment that the band used on its 1988-89 ...And Justice For All tour.
A 20th anniversary tribute CD of the entire Master Of Puppets album re-recorded by bands like Bullet For My Valentine, Machine Head and Trivium, with liner notes by Metallica's Lars Ulrich, will be given away for free with next Tuesday's (April 5th) issue of British rock magazine Kerrang!
