Queensryche return with Mindcrime II
It's been 18 years since Queensryche released their Operation: Mindcrime album, and the band has revisited the storyline on their new release, which is called Operation: Mindcrime II. It picks up 18 years later, and it finally brings resolution to the characters Nikki, Mary, and Dr. X. Frontman Geoff Tate told us that the moral of the Mindcrime tale can be hard to swallow, but it's one that people need to understand: "I think it's an interesting story about a young man growing up, and the blinders coming off, and realizing that it's not a black-and-white world, which we're all taught. And the older you, you get, you grow up and you realize that (chuckles) it ain't black-and-white -- it ain't even gray! (laughs) You know, there are certain people that are in power, and they call the shots, and the rest of us jump. And that's a real hard lesson for a lot of us to learn."
Tate will sing the national anthem before the New York Mets take on the Washington Nationals on Wednesday, April 5th, at Shea Stadium in Flushing, New York.
A North American tour in support of the new album starts August 25th in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
