Roger Waters announces tour dates

Roger Waters will bring his world tour to the Western Hemisphere in the fall. The former Pink Floyd singer-bassist has announced a run of North American shows that will begin September 6th in Holmdel, New Jersey, and there are date scheduled through October 12th in Seattle. Waters will mix Floyd material with his solo work in the first set, with a full performance of the 1973 Floyd album The Dark Side Of The Moon coming after intermission each night. The tour will hit arenas and amphitheatres, and it's the first time Waters has played across North America since 2002.

The band includes Waters's son Harry on organ and guitarist Snowy White, who toured with Pink Floyd in the '70s and who was also a member of Thin Lizzy after that.

Waters has European dates scheduled from June 4th through July 14th, as well as a single show in Israel on June 22nd. That date was moved from Tel Aviv to the town of Neveh Shalom, which is made up of both Israelis and Palestinians. It was a compromise to balance his desire not to punish Israeli fans for a decision made by their government, with the request of Palestinians who didn't want him playing in Israel as a protest against the security wall being built between Israeli and Palestinian positions.
