Slipknot drummer puts on producing mask
Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison is putting on his producing mask to get behind the recording desk for metal act 3 Inches Of Blood, according to a posting at the Roadrunner Records web site. Jordison has already produced some new demos for the group and will enter the studio with them sometime this fall to work on their second album. Both acts are signed to Roadrunner, and Jordison had previously expressed interest in producing the first 3 Inches album, Advance And Vanquish.
Jordison will be the touring drummer for Ministry on the veteran industrial metal act's upcoming world tour, which begins on May 6th in North America.
Slipknot won a Grammy earlier this year for Best Metal Performance after losing the award five years in a row. The band went on hiatus at the end of 2005 after 18 months on the road in support of its 2004 album, Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses).
Singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root recently completed work on the second album from their other band, Stone Sour. The disc is called Come What May and will come out on July 18th. Stone Sour has been confirmed to appear on Korn's Family Values tour this summer.
