Thin Lizzy DVD highlights Lynott's talent

Out now is a new DVD that salutes Thin Lizzy and the band's late frontman, Phil Lynott. One Night In Dublin: A Tribute To Phil Lynott was shot last August on the same day that a statue of the rock legend was unveiled in Dublin. The concert was organized by one-time Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore, who handled vocals on the night. The guitarist told us that having to do sing those parts gave him a greater appreciation for how talented Lynott was: "He used to stand there and make it look so easy, and don't forget, he was playing all those bass lines, and doing all that amazing vocal phrasing against the bass line, and he made it look just like it was so natural. But when you try and do it, it's not that easy. I had to work on... a couple of those songs in particular I had to really work on to get the phrasing right."

Phil Lynott was 34 when he died on January 4th, 1986, from kidney and liver failure, which were the results of his long-term substance abuse.

Guitarists Scott Gorham and John Sykes continue to lead Thin Lizzy, and the band tours regularly.

Moore just finished a UK tour with B.B. King that was advertised as being the last one for the blues legend.

Gary Moore has a new album called Old New Ballads Blues coming out May 2nd.
