Tool gearing up for live shows
Tool will hit the road at the end of this month for its first live performances since 2002, and drummer Danny Carey told us that after a long break, it always takes a little time for the group to get its act together onstage: "Live-wise, yeah, it always takes a week or two before you really start having that feeling in a band when you're breathing together, you know, and the songs really start taking on a life of their own. But we rehearse enough, you know, before we head out that it reaches a bare minimum where we think it's gonna get the job done, even before we reach our ideal of perfection, I guess you'd say."
Tool's North American tour will start on May 2nd in Seattle, the day that the band's new 10,000 Days album arrives. The trek runs through May 22nd, where it finishes in Boston.
The 15-date mini-tour will follow the group's headlining performance on April 30th at the Coachella festival in Indio, California.
Tickets for all the newly announced dates go on sale this Saturday (April 22nd).
"Vicarious," the first single from 10,000 Days, reached the airwaves on Monday (April 17th).
