Bassist leaving Rob Zombie for Ozzy?

Bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson is strongly rumored to have left Rob Zombie's band in order to join Ozzy Osbourne's new recording and touring lineup, according to Blabbermouth.net. There was no official word at press time on either Nicholson's exit or a possible replacement for him. Nicholson has actually played in Osbourne's band before, joining in December of 2003 as a replacement for ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, but his only live appearance with the Osbourne group came in September of 2005 as part of ABC-TV's NFL Kickoff show.

Zombie himself introduced a new band last year, featuring Nicholson, former Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5 and ex-Alice Cooper drummer Tommy Clufetos.

Zombie revealed the first confirmed dates for his American Witch Across America tour earlier this week, which will begin in late June in El Paso, Texas. He's also rumored to be co-headlining this fall with Godsmack. He is currently touring in support of his third solo album, Educated Horses. "American Witch" is the CD's latest single.
