David Gilmour live in movie theatres
Last night was probably the last chance to see Pink Floyd singer-guitarist David Gilmour in concert in North America this year. His March 7th show at the Mermaid Theatre in London was be shown in over 100 theaters on Tuesday, May 16th. It was the first time Gilmour and his band, which includes Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright, had performed in front of a paying audience, and footage from the event was used on a couple of BBC programs. The show was in support of his album called On An Island. The Pink Floyd legend told us he's very proud of the record, and that he can't pick one song as a favorite: "They all have different attractions for me. They all are slightly different moments, they remind me of different events. I couldn't say that I have a favorite -- I have half a dozen favorites. I think it's the best thing I've done in years -- forever, probably."
The singer/guitarist and his band kick off their next round of dates on May 27th in Glasgow, Scotland.
The band will shoot a DVD at the Royal Albert Hall in London on May 29th and 30th.
