"Producers lining up for Velvet Revolver"

Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan told RollingStone.com that a number of producers are lining up to work with the band on tracks for its second album, which is currently in pre-production in Los Angeles. McKagan said, "Lenny Kravitz wants to record us. (U2 producer) Daniel Lanois, we want to do a track with. Pharrell (Williams, hip-hop super-producer) will probably do one. And then a myriad of others are doing two or three songs each."

The former Guns N' Roses bassist named a new tune called "Wasted Heart" as his favorite so far, adding that some of the material has already been recorded. The upcoming album has a working title of Libertad.

Velvet Revolver has also been added to the list of artists performing at the second annual MusiCares MAP Fund Benefit Concert, which is honoring Metallica frontman James Hetfield and concert promoter Bill Silva. Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, Alice In Chains members Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney, Tom Waits, Jason Mraz and others are also scheduled to play, along with Hetfield himself. The event takes place on Friday, May 12th, in Hollywood.
