Radiohead announce US tour dates

Radiohead have revealed the details of a US tour it will undertake in June. Playing mostly smaller venues and theatres, the British band will touch down on June 1st for two openings shows in Philadelphia, concluding at the end of the month with a pair of dates in Los Angeles. The set lists for the gigs will lean heavily on new material that the group has been recording for much of the last year. According to a press release, the concerts will feature "scaled down staging and lighting design, creating a suitably intimate environment for the first ever airings of several new songs."

Radiohead's seventh studio album does not yet have a title or arrival date, and the same press release states that there are "no plans for a Radiohead album release any time in 2006."

The group has hinted at issuing songs in different ways than the conventional album format, such as making them available individually online.

Radiohead will also headline the Bonnaroo festival on June 17th in Manchester, Tennessee.

Tickets for most of the tour go on sale this Friday (May 5th) and Saturday (May 6th).
