Radiohead frontman releasing solo album
Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke will release his first album outside the band, titled The Eraser, on July 11th. The disc features nine new songs written and performed by Yorke. In an email to Radiohead's fan club, Yorke wrote about the album, "I have been itching to do something like this for ages...As you know the band are now touring and writing new stuff and getting to a good space so I want no crap about me being a traitor or whatever splitting up blah, blah. This was all done with their blessing. And I don't wanna hear that word solo. Doesn't sound right."
One song from the album, "Black Swan," will play over the closing credits of the upcoming movie A Scanner Darkly, due out in July.

Radiohead will begin a North American theatre tour on June 1st in Philadelphia, finishing at the end of the month in Los Angeles.
A press release stated that the group will return to work on its new album at the completion of the tour, with plans to issue it in 2007.
