Red Hot Chili Peppers remain a California band
"Dani California," the first single from the Red Hot Chili Peppers' new Stadium Arcadium double CD, continues the group's fascination with the Golden State. Singer Anthony Kiedis explained why California and especially Los Angeles continue to inspire their music: "This town and the sort of mystique and the electricity of this city has always inspired us, and creatively I think it's one of the great places in the world to live. And unfortunately it feels like today, people's conception of southern California or Los Angeles has become very artificial and superficial, which is really not the reality of California."
Stadium Arcadium arrived in stores on Tuesday (May 9th). The 28-song set is split into two discs named "Jupiter" and "Mars."
The Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline Lollapalooza in Chicago in early August, before beginning a North American tour on August 11th in Portland, Oregon.
