Santana announces US tour dates
The pieces are starting to come together for Carlos Santana's North American tour plans. He's just announced a nine shows on the West Coast that start July 27th in San Diego, and an East Coast run is also shaping up for September. More dates should be revealed in the not-too-distant future. The guitarist told us that his concert audience includes a true cross-section of America: "We see a lot of people from Phish, from (the) Dave Matthews camp, Widespread Panic -- you know, all kinds of people started showing up. Tie-dyes, straight hair, mohawks, suit-and-ties, you know -- everything. Hip, square, everything, and we like it like that, you know? I like just playing the parking lot or Woodstock -- it's still the same. You know, it's people."
