Tricky situation led Korn to skip Indonesia

Korn canceled a May 4th show in Jakarta, Indonesia last week, with reports indicating that there were concerns over whether the country's Merapi volcano might erupt. But singer Jonathan Davis told us that the band was also worried about the unstable nature of that area of the world right now: "You know, it's just hairy down there right now, and we didn't want to be responsible for anyone getting hurt at our shows or anything like that, so we chose not to go. Plus there was the volcano that was on the island erupting, so we thought that just all the way around it was just best for us not to go this time."

Merapi is one of Indonesia's most active volcanoes and recent lava flows have led more than 5,000 Indonesians to flee their homes near the mountain.

Indonesia has also been a staging ground for Islamic militants and terrorists.

Korn released a collection of concert recordings and rare cuts on Tuesday, May 9th, titled Live & Rare.

Korn and the Deftones will co-headline the revived Family Values tour this summer, beginning on July 27th in Virginia Beach. Davis told us that the lineup will feature a total of 10 bands on two stages.
