Def Leppard guitarist hopes to jam as tour with Journey starts

The Def Leppard/Journey tour gets underway on Friday, June 23rd, at the Tweeter Center At The Waterfront in Camden, New Jersey. It's a coheadlining package, and each band will play about 80 or 90 minutes. Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen is a big fan of Journey guitarist Neal Schon, and Collen told us he hopes they get to share the stage at some point: "I've met him, and kinda just jammed with him backstage, and stuff, but that's about it. He's really good -- he rips it up."

The groups will ebon the road together until September 23rd, when they close out the tour in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

Def Leppard is supporting their new covers album called Yeah!

Last year, Journey released a new studio album called Generations.
