Ex-Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist speaks at Rock Hall
Former Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Ed King was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame this year, and now he's going to the shrine. King was in the museum's Fourth Floor Theater on Wednesday, June 28th, for an interview with Rock Hall Vice President of Education Warren Zanes. The event, which was free, was part of the Rock Hall's ongoing Hall Of Fame series, in which inductees speak about their careers and their lives.
Before joining Lynyrd Skynyrd in time to record their debut album, King was a founding member of the psychedelic band the Strawberry Alarm Clock, and he co-wrote their Number One hit "Incense And Peppermints."
The Hall Of Fame Series is in its 10th year. Previous speakers include Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek, original Allman Brothers Band singer-guitarist Dickey Betts, the Yardbirds, Graham Nash, and Kinks leader Ray Davies.
