Korn's Jonathan Davis says illness "scared the hell out of me"

Korn frontman Jonathan Davis is currently recovering at home in Los Angeles from a blood infection that forced the band to cancel its European tour earlier this month. The rare disorder could have proven fatal if not caught, and Davis told us that the incident made him reorganize his priorities: "I'm more about health now. I mean, this thing just totally shook me up. I'm about, 'Fuck money and fame and everything else.' I mean, the biggest riches you have is your health and your family, so I've been going down that road right now. It scared the hell out of me, man."

Davis was hospitalized earlier this month in London when the disorder, called Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), sent his platelet count plummeting to dangerously low levels.

The singer told us he's taking steroids to stabilize his platelet count and is recovering quickly from the disease.

Korn will be joined by Deftones, Stone Sour, Flyleaf and other acts on this summer's Family Values tour, which begins on July 27th in Virginia Beach.

The latest single from Korn's current album, See You On The Other Side, is "Coming Undone."
