Pink Floyd's Waters adds graffiti to Israel-Palestinian wall
Roger Waters made his feelings known on Wednesday, June 21st, about the Israeli-Palestinian security divider when he tagged it with graffiti. Waters is in Israel for a concert this week, and when he was brought to the barrier in the West Bank, he used spray paint and a magic marker on it to write the message "tear down the wall." According to Reuters, the former Pink Floyd singer-bassist said, "It's a horrific edifice, this thing. I've seen pictures of it, I've heard a lot about it, but without being here, you can't imagine how extraordinarily oppressive it is and how sad it is to see these people coming through these little holes. It's craziness."He was originally supposed to perform in Tel Aviv on Thursday, June 22nd, but he moved the show to the joint Palestinian-Israeli village of Neve Shalom after being criticized for playing in Israel while the country was oppressing Palestinians with the fence. Waters has long been opposed to Israel's security plan.
