Rolling Stones moving gigs to next year?
A Russian newspaper is reporting that several of the European Rolling Stones dates postponed by Keith Richards's head trauma will be pushed into next year. The St. Petersburg Times quoted a statement from the promoters that said, "The medical commission that examined Keith Richards, who had received a head injury, ruled out any performances by the musician for the next six weeks. Therefore, the band will postpone several European concerts of its 2006 tour until next year." There's been no word from the Stones as to when the tour might begin.Last week, the band announced that they were postponing 15 shows in Europe, in order to give Richards time to recover from his injury and subsequent cranial surgery. The official word was that the band would be able to start up again in early July, but the new start date and location haven't been revealed.
At last check, the guitarist was recuperating at his home in Connecticut, and all reports of potentially lasting damage have been strongly denied.
