System Of A Down guitarist starting comic book company

System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan says he'll launch an Internet-based comic book company when the band goes on hiatus after this summer's Ozzfest. Dolmayan told the Calgary Sun that comics are his "other passion," explaining, "I love music, and comics are what I've also been into since I was a kid. I'm a nerd, man. I'm staying true to my nerd roots." There's no further info on when the company will go online and what kind of books Dolmayan will market.

Guitarist Daron Malakian told MTV in May that System Of A Down planned to take a lengthy break from recording and touring so that the members could pursue individual projects.

Malakian is currently assembling a new group called Scars On Broadway and plans to record its debut album this fall. System bassist Shavo Odadjian may participate and is also planning a collaboration with the Wu-Tang Clan.

Singer Serj Tankian will most likely continue to sign and develop artists on his own label, Serjical Strike.

Ozzfest kicks off on Thursday, June 29th, in Seattle. SOAD is co-headlining with Disturbed and, on selected dates, Ozzy Osbourne.
