The Who revived after Live 8
The Who are back out on the road in Europe, and they're seeing a lot of interest from younger people -- and according to guitarist Pete Townshend, that's not surprising. Townshend recently did an interview with Opal Bonfante on Big L Radio in London, and he said that while there's always been a fan base for the Who, things started picking up again about a year ago: "The music just tends to sort of last, and it tends to... you know, we tend to get these renaissance, you know, where -- like, you know, the most recent was when we played at Live 8, and suddenly there's a whole new, younger audience interested in what we do. They don't know much about us, but they're interested." Townshend also said that the band had another "renaissance" when punk rock hit in the mid-'70s.

The next show for the Who is tonight (Wednesday, June 28th) in Bristol, England.
